Car Build > Pro7 Mazda RX-7 – The First Viewing

Tags: john tucker, brent shaw, car builds, mazda, mazda pro7 racing, pro7 mazda rx7, rx7

Following on from my first post about my Pro7 Mazda RX-7 race car introduction... On a sunny Friday afternoon in February 2011, I drove from Hamilton to Auckland to check out a freshly imported vehicle which would be suitable for my race car project. A few weeks earlier, a vehicle importer and rotary enthusiast by the name of John Tucker had emailed these photos of a very tidy non-compliable 1992 Mazda RX-7...

Results > 8 Year Old Marcus Runciman’s First Ever Round Win

Tags: brent shaw, offroading, results, marcus runciman, new zealand offroad racing championship

Part of my day job involves designing and creating custom stickers and signage for customers throughout New Zealand. It's not often that I get to see the finished product though, as the majority of my products are sent out via courier and applied by their owners. Occasionally a happy customer emails through some pics, as was the case with the Shane - the proud father of Marcus Runciman...

News and Updates > KiwiMotoring has a new icon!

Tags: news and updates, kiwimotoring, brent shaw, dean rope, stickers, super roo, super bee, dodge, ford

KiwiMotoring is please to announce that we have a new brand icon! Inspired by Ford's 'Super Roo' and Dodge's 'Super Bee' of the 60's and 70's, we think our new as-yet unnamed icon sums up New Zealand's passion for motoring quite nicely. A big thank you to the very talented Dean Rope, who was able to turn our idea into a beautiful, simple design which will look great on our website, Facebook page, and anything else we decide to put it on (hmm, some stickers will be nice).

Let us know what you think in the comments section below, or you can contact us directly here....

The 18th National Classic Car and Hot Rod Festival ran on the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of January 2012, and this was the first time that I had been to this event. We left Hamilton bright and early on Saturday morning, and arrived at the show at around 8.30am. We were greeted with fine weather, and the largest collection of classic cars and hot rods that I have ever seen in one place.

Car Build > Pro7 Mazda RX-7 Race Car – Introduction

Tags: car builds, mazda, brent shaw, mazda pro7 racing, pro7 mazda rx7, rx7

Since I was an early teen (15+ years ago), one of my life goals has been to compete in a sanctioned race series. I’ve always been into RX-7s and had previously considered buying or building a Pro7 Series 1/2/3 car. However, I was put off by the fact that the cars are getting very long in the tooth now, with speed (compared to modern cars), reliability and parts becoming an ever increasing issue.

A few years ago, the ‘Pro7 Plus’ class was introduced to the Pro7 Racing Series, which allowed the later model FC and FD cars to compete. Now the original concept of the Pro7 Racing Series...
